Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We don't want to penalize parents financially. However, there are expenses that the HB Jr Cavs pay on your behalf that can't be refunded. If your child does not want to participate after the first practice, we can't give refunds. At this point, we have already spent the registration fee getting ready for the season and invested in the equipment, etc. Cancellation requests submitted to the Treasurer prior to May 15 will be granted a 100% refund. Between May 16 and the date of the first practice, a refund of the Registration Fee is available less a $25 administrative fee. There are no refunds after the date of the first practice and no refunds for clinic registration fees. Thanks for your understanding.
Q: What league(s) will the HB Jr Cavs play in during the season?
A: Seventh and eighth graders will play in the Granite State Football League on either Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. Younger grades (2-6 and under 12 years of age, divided into multiple age-appropriate levels) play in the American Youth Football League through the New Hampshire Youth Football & Spirit Conference.
Q: Will there be a limit to the number of players on each team?
A: Yes, there will be a limit of 25 players per team and we will compile a wait list after that.
Q: Is there a weight limit?
A: There are no weight limits on any of the current or potential teams.
Q: How far will we travel for games?
A: The GSFL has NH and VT teams. See the GSFL website for current team listings and schedule. As we're in the southern division, the majority of our games will be played across southern NH. The NHYFSC lists their members here.
Q: When do practices start?
A: GSFL Practices start in August in accordance with the NHIAA high school football practice start date. Our younger teams follow the NHYFSC schedule and typically start the first Monday in August or the last Monday in July.
Q: What is the charge for lost equipment?
A: Game jerseys $35, pants $35, helmets $125, shoulder pads $65, miscellaneous pads $10.
Q: Do you hold Football Camps?
A: Yes, we do and we feel they are a great opportunity to learn about football or brush up on specific skills without contact or equipment. It is also an opportunity to meet the coaches, past HB players, and teammates to get you ready for the season, or just have some mid-summer football fun right in Brookline at CSDA, the upper elementary school. A season commitment is NOT required to attend the camps.
Q. What ages can attend the camp?
A: Grades 2nd through 8th (for the upcoming school year) will be accommodated for the camps.
